How Exchange Works

Step 1: Create Your Profile (Required)

Create your profile and complete all required information. A complete and honest profile helps build trust and increases your chance of being accepted by other users.

Step 2: Add at Least One Item to Share (Required)

You must add at least one item to your virtual closet before you can send an exchange request. This is mandatory to use the exchange feature.

Step 3: Add Your Shipping Information (New Users)

If you are a new user, you will be asked to add your shipping information before you send an exchange request. This allows Giftsy to calculate the shipping label fee after your request is accepted.

Step 4: Browse Items

Browse items shared by other users and find items you would like to exchange.

Step 5: Select Items You Want

When you find items you like, you may select multiple items in one exchange request.

Step 6: Send an Exchange Offer

Send an exchange offer and select items from your own virtual closet to propose in return.

You can also choose how many items the other user may select from your items.

Step 7: Wait for the Other User’s Decision

The other user reviews your exchange offer and decides whether to accept it.

If the other user is new, they will be asked to add their shipping address so that shipping fees can be calculated through Shippo.

Step 8: Confirm Shipping and Pay Shipping Fees

If your exchange offer is accepted, both users will be asked to choose the box size they will use to send their items, confirm their receiving address, and pay their own shipping label fees.

Step 9: Generate Shipping Labels

After payment, shipping labels are generated through the Giftsy platform and can be printed directly from your account.

Step 10: Ship Your Items (Within 7 Days)

Each sender prints the shipping label, packages the item, attaches the label, and ships the item.

Giftsy encourages users to ship their items within 7 days after an exchange is accepted.

We also encourage reusing empty boxes from previous deliveries whenever possible to reduce packaging waste.

Step 11: Track Your Packages

Both users can track shipments directly on the Giftsy website and will receive shipping notifications.

Step 12: Mark Items as Sent and Received

Mark your items as “Sent” and “Received” once shipping and delivery are completed.

Step 13: Send Karma Points

After you click “Done,” you will be taken to the History page, where you can send 1 to 3 karma points to the other user to recognize their generosity.
